Foreign Service Fellowships: Pickering, Rangel, and Payne

Are you interested in joining the Foreign Service of the U.S. Department of State or the USAID Foreign Service? Do you want to make a positive change in the world?

The Pickering and Rangel Graduate Fellowships provide financial support through two years of graduate study, internships, mentoring, and professional development activities leading to an appointment in the Foreign Service of the U.S. Department of State.

The Payne International Development Fellowship provides similar support through two years leading to an appointment with the USAID Foreign Service.

IMPORTANT: The Pickering, Rangel, and Payne programs seek applications from students and recent graduates who are US citizens with financial need, especially those who are members of minority groups historically underrepresented in the Foreign Service.
