We are currently accepting applications for internship openings in Congressman Kissell’s fast-paced Washington, D.C. office during the upcoming SPRING term (approximately early January through late May, 2012). Internship duties include, but are not limited to:
n sorting mail;
n drafting constituent response letters;
n conducting legislative research;
n answering phones;
n compiling and entering data;
n attending Congressional hearings and briefings;
n leading Capitol visitor tours; and
n performing other administrative tasks.
Successful interns will be goal-oriented self-starters with a professional demeanor and a good sense of humor. Additionally, excellent communication skills are highly valued in this position.
While the internship is unpaid, interns will gain invaluable knowledge about Capitol Hill and the legislative process. This is a great educational opportunity for anyone interested in government, politics, public policy or law, and interns will be able to take advantage of the unique learning opportunities that abound throughout the Washington, DC area.
