POSITION TYPE: Internship (Fall or Spring Part-Time)
The
Global Affairs and Partnerships program at Search for Common Ground
(SFCG) is seeking a part-time fall intern to provide research,
administrative
and logistical support to GAP in the Team’s overall fundraising,
development and policy activities. GAP is responsible for bilateral and
multilateral fundraising, new program development, support to
Sustainable Business Practice, and proposal development for
global programs.
Responsibilities:
• Desktop research related to fundraising (governments and specific foundations) according to set guidelines;
• Assist with global partnerships and contracts;
• Identify and research opportunities for new program development and partnerships;
• Provide support to GAP Program Manager and Program Associate;
• Attend relevant public meetings in Washington and take notes when requested;
• Update computerized database of donors and prospects;
• General administrative tasks as needed;
• Assistance to the VP for GAP when required;
• Support new program design and proposal writing; and
• Assist GAP in marketing, sales and disbursement of SFCG videos.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Current BA or MA student of International Relations, Conflict Studies, Development, or a related area;
• Written and spoken fluency in English;
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, Internet Search Engines).
The ideal candidate will further exhibit:
• A self-starting, enthusiastic and flexible approach to the organization and the position;
• Demonstrable interest in conflict resolution;
• Good writing, editing and communication skills;
• NGO, fundraising and/or international experience and/or interest;
• Excellent attention to detail; and
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and tight deadlines.
