Proposed Reforms to U.S. Food Aid: Framing the Debate
Join us on July 18th for a panel discussion about proposed reforms to the U.S. international food aid system.
Space is limited so please register early.

The President’s FY 2014 Budget proposes to reform the Food for Peace Program by authorizing USAID to purchase up to 45 percent of its food aid abroad and by eliminating the monetization process through which many NGOs fund their development programs. Additionally, the “Food Aid Reform Act” (H.R. 1983) has proposed exempting food assistance from cargo preference as a means to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of programs while cutting costs. FoodPolicy.US will convene a panel of expert stakeholders at the DC campus of New York University to frame this critical debate.
