In the next year, the Supreme Court could hand down a decision that is worse than Citizens United. On October 8th, the justices will hear oral arguments on McCutcheon v. FEC. While Citizens United opened the floodgate for an unprecedented amount of outside spending that shattered records in 2012, McCutcheon could unleash even more big money in our elections.
We need to use this opportunity to call attention to this problem and take action to fix a broken system. Join activists and organizations across a wide spectrum of issues to stand up for our democracy on October 8th at 9:30 AM on the steps of the Supreme Court.
Featuring keynote speakers:
- Reverend William Barber, a leader of the Moral Monday protests in North Carolina and chapter leader of North Carolina NAACP
- Congressman John Sarbanes, lead sponsor of a strong public financing bill in the House
- Larry Cohen, President of the Communications Workers of America
- Phil Radford, Executive Director of Greenpeace USA
...and many more
