The Gilman, which offers up to $5000, furthers the
University of Maryland’s ongoing internationalization with support for
underrepresented groups such as first generation college students, racial and
ethnic minorities and transfer students among others. In the last two years 58 UMD students received Gilman awards totaling $222,000.
Students in these categories should consider applying for this scholarship. The deadline for studying abroad in spring 2015
is October 7.
