NASAA Summer 2015 Research Internship

About NASAA
NASAA is the membership organization that unites, represents and serves the nation's state and jurisdictional arts agencies. Each of the 56 states and jurisdictions has created an agency to support excellence in and access to the arts. NASAA's mission is to strengthen state arts agencies.
About the Internship
The research intern will have the opportunity to work alongside members of NASAA's research department on a new project investigating correlations of public funding for the arts with various data sets. The research intern also may learn about and assist with NASAA's ongoing research projects. Primary tasks will include data collection, statistical analysis of NASAA data sources and internal reporting. The research intern should be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program. Time spent working at the NASAA office or from another location is flexible and is expected to average 15-20 hours per week. A stipend may be available.
Desired Qualifications
- Strong interest in the arts or public policy
- Graduate or undergraduate coursework in statistics
- Experience or coursework in qualitative and quantitative research methods
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to keep complex data sets and information collections systematically organized
