As the 2016 Election cycle kicks into gear, a Maryland Democratic Party Summer Internship will be a valuable experience which will give students and recent graduates experience in electoral politics and the opportunity to learn about the state, the political process, and to meet many of Maryland’s elected leaders. Internship ProgramThe Maryland Democratic Party Internship Program provides undergraduate and graduate students, as well as recent graduates, a unique opportunity to gain hands on experience in Maryland’s political process. We are now accepting applications for Fall 2016 Maryland Democratic Party Internships. The internship will run from September 2016 to December 2016 with the potential for an extension. Internships will focus in several areas including fundraising, communications (social media), field activity, research, and political outreach. The internship will be based at our office in Annapolis. Intern duties and responsibilities include:Draft communications for general distributionManage data listsAssist in event planningCommunicate with Democratic Party officials, offices and staffBuild relationships with Democratic affiliated organizationsGeneral researchGeneral office support and organization RequirementsAn interest in politics, especially Maryland politicsExcellent written and oral communication skillsAbility to commute to our office in AnnapolisInterns should be prepared to use their own laptop computersInterns may be asked to attend events in Annapolis and around the state of Maryland ScheduleInterns must commit to a minimum of ten hours per week during normal business hoursSchedules will be set with your direct MDP supervisor This is an unpaid, volunteer internship position.
