The Washington office of one of the
premier American Jewish non-profits is seeking summer interns who are looking
to combine their interests in Jewish communal work and national politics. JFNA’s legislative agenda
focuses on a variety of issues that includes, but is not limited to, bolstering
retirement and aging health policies; protecting programs for vulnerable
populations, such as domestic violence victims, human trafficking victims,
people with disabilities, refugees, and low income families; safeguarding
non-profits from terrorism; and more.
JFNA interns will work on a wide range of social service
focused public policy issues. Through this internship, interns will learn
innovative approaches to stimulate community interest by organizing and
informing local grassroots networks of Jewish federations and affiliated social
service agencies. The day-to-day responsibilities of a JFNA internship
includes, but is not limited to, attending congressional hearings, taking part
in advocacy/leadership training days, compiling and analyzing surveys, and
researching and writing on a variety of existing and proposed policies.
Summer internships are
full-time, and interns are offered a stipend. In lieu of a stipend, we also
offer college credit if allowed by an individual’s university/college.
If interested, please forward
a cover letter, resume, brief writing sample, and references to interndcoffice@JewishFederations.org.
