Come to Technica, the all-women hackathon that seeks to empower and encourage women from diverse backgrounds to pursue careers or interests in the tech field!
A hackathon is an event that brings computer programmers and other interested people together to immerse themselves in tech culture. Technica, UMD’s all-women hackathon, will take place from November 4th-5th at the Reckord Armory and the event is completely free. Technica’s main goal is to reduce the gender imbalance in the tech fields by introducing people who identify as women or non-binary from diverse backgrounds to tech. Anyone of any gender can mentor or volunteer. No computer science experience or coding/tech skills are necessary to participate - It’s a great way to learn something new!
