Position Summary:
The NRDC Action Fund is an affiliated but separate organization from the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC). The NRDC Action Fund’s mission is to build political support for advancing the goals of the Natural Resources Defense Council.
The NRDC Action Fund is seeking a Political Research Intern to assist the organization with its electoral work.
This is a paid internship, requiring a minimum work schedule of 20 hours per week beginning in August/September 2018 through December 2018, with the potential to extend into 2019.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Political Research Intern will work with NRDC Action Fund staff to:
- Conduct political research to inform Action Fund electoral activity
- Regularly track developments in federal and state elections
- Research candidates’ backgrounds and positions on the NRDC Action Fund’s policy priorities
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
An ideal Political Research Intern candidate will:
- Be currently pursuing a 2-year or 4-year degree.
- Possess exceptional writing, research and critical thinking skills (and successfully complete a timed research/writing test)
- Demonstrate substantial interest in relevant subject areas (i.e. previous professional experience and/or academic major in politics, environment, energy, etc.)
- Work effectively on a team, and be able to drive projects to completion
- Be willing and able to learn new skills and subject areas
