Senator Coons' Washington D.C. Spring Internships - Applications Now Open

Washington, D.C. Legislative Program, Spring 2022:
The Office of Senator Chris Coons (D-DE) seeks interns for his office in Washington, DC for spring of 2022. Responsibilities include answering phones, sorting mail, handling requests for flags and tours, and assisting legislative staff in research. Internship positions are full or part time. This position requires outstanding organizational abilities, strong communication skills, attention to detail, poise, flexibility, and an ability to prioritize in an extremely fast-paced office. Motivated, hard-working, and professional applicants looking to get a taste of Capitol Hill are encouraged to apply.

Applications require a completed questionnaire, a resume, cover letter, and one brief (2-3 pages) writing sample related to your major. The internship will run from early February to May. Delaware ties are preferred.

Washington, D.C. Press Program, Spring 2022:
U.S. Senator Chris Coons’ Washington, D.C. office is seeking applicants for a full-time or part-time communications internship for Spring 2022. Tasks will include tracking media clips, editing video/photo/audio, drafting press releases, and assisting members of the communications team with a wide range of projects. Applicants must be undergraduate or graduate students or recent graduates who can work at least 20 hours a week from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Prior internship experience in media, campaigns, or government is preferred.  Experience with digital communications – including work with graphics and photo and video editing – is also strongly preferred.
 
Our office offers paid internships to applicants with demonstrated financial need. Those who are interested in and eligible to receive a paid internship are required to submit additional application materials to help determine their financial need. Delaware ties are a plus.
