Join us for the first of this year’s series of Women@State panel discussions featuring four senior foreign service leaders at the U.S. Department of State! Meet our panelists: Vernelle Trim FitzPatrick has been with the U.S. Department of State for almost 25 years. She has worked mostly on developing countries in Latin America, Europe, and Africa. She was most recently the Director of the Office of Assistance to Africa in the Bureau of Population, Refugees, and Migration. Jeanne Juliao joined the Department in 2002 and has had tours in Venezuela, Colombia, and Milan. She is currently the Ombuds but some of her previous Civil Service positions include serving as the Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of Global Talent Management, Director of the Grievance Staff, Senior Advisor to the Deputy Assistant Secretary in HR, and the Department’s coordinator on policy, training, and litigation of Fair Labor Standards Act issues. Yuri Kim is a career diplomat and Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Europe and Eurasian Affairs where she works on key foreign policy and national security challenges across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Her previous overseas assignments include Turkey, Iraq, the Republic of Korea, Japan, and China.
