MyMaryland.net,
a 501(c)(3) website
devoted to increasing civic participation by making it easy for Maryland
residents to contact their elected officials, is announcing our paid
internship for the fall 2012 semester. We are seeking a talented,
entrepreneurial student to join our team for this
fall semester, with the possibility of staying longer. The intern will
work on campus alongside our founder for about 5-15 hours a week doing
various tasks to help get MyMaryland.net ready for launch, including the
following:

Drafting press releases, and engaging bloggers and news reporters to pitch stories
·
Drafting grant proposals
·
Social media and communications presence on Facebook, Twitter, blog, and MailChimp platforms
·
Giving site demos to elected officials in Annapolis and Capitol Hill
·
Researching various opportunities at the intersection of government and politics and the internet
·
Any graphic design skills or video editing is a plus
·
Data entry
Ideal
candidates have previous
internship experience, are passionate about MyMaryland.net's vision, and
are very responsive to calls, texts, and email. Candidates must also
generally exhibit strong professionalism, people skills, communication,
creativity, attention to detail, and a positive
attitude.
The
internship pays $10/hour,
but is most importantly a fantastic opportunity to work on a meaningful
project, gain work experience, and expand your network. Interested
