Intern/Cooperative Associate: Federal Government Relations - Washington DC (Summer)
 

PPL is an energy company headquartered in Allentown, PA which hires interns into paid positions year round (spring, summer and fall) in various departments based on the business need.

Position Summary 
 
An Intern/Cooperative Associate is a temporarily employed full-time college student in an accredited four-year institution of higher learning, who is offered a work-study program designed to give college students practical work experience in their field of study. This program often helps students determine career interests. Beyond the scope of the actual tasks performed, the student becomes familiar with a corporate environment and gains practical skills and knowledge to supplement their classroom experience.

Primary Responsibilities 
 
Position will entail:
Monitoring Congressional activity in areas relevant to PPL's businesses.
Research and summarizing legislative proposals of potential interest to PPL and its business lines.
Attending and summarizing Congressional hearings and briefings.
Representing PPL at political fundraisers, trade association meetings and other stakeholder events.
Assisting in general office duties.
