The
office of Congressman John Culberson is seeking an intern for the Fall
2013 semester. Interns
must have completed at least one year of undergraduate study, and must
possess strong oral and written communication skills. Interns will also
be eligible to earn course credit.
While
interning in Washington, students will have a variety of
responsibilities including researching
legislation, responding to inquiries from constituents, assisting with
special projects, and performing administrative duties such as answering
phones and opening mail. Interns will also have the opportunity to
attend Congressional hearings and markups, participate
in courses offered by the Library of Congress, attend lectures by
leading political figures, and take special tours of Washington’s
historic landmarks.
Internships
are unpaid, and students are responsible for travel to and from
Washington, housing,
and arrangements to receive academic credits. Rep. Culberson’s office
will work with the school and the student to tailor the intern program
to meet the student’s academic requirements. Interns are expected to
work full-time; however, if you are taking classes,
we will accommodate your schedule.
To apply, please send a resume and cover letter to:
