The fellowship program is a unique and exciting opportunity for students to learn directly from policy experts and experienced grassroots organizers on the intricacies of the UN’s vital work in global health and the key role played by U.S. leadership.
Furthermore, the fellowship focuses on connecting students to the UN Foundation’s campaigns and initiatives – including the Shot@Life and Nothing But Nets campaigns – empowering them to take action and make a direct impact on global health policy.
This seven-week online program will teach students the advocacy skills necessary to run a grassroots campaign, including:
- Conducting successful in-district meetings;
- Using social media to engage elected officials;
- Fundraising;
- Recruiting volunteers; and
- Engaging local media outlets.
Ultimately, UNF’s Global Health Fellowship will challenge students to turn their passion into action and make their voices heard to promote healthy lives for millions of men, women, and children.
Fellows will be asked to apply these lessons to real-life situations, working with UNF staff to influence change in their communities and develop career-ready skills. Applications for the Fall Semester will be open until September 11th and all accepted applicants will be notified no later than September 15th.
Please feel free to share this opportunity with directly with your students, if they have any questions they can reach out to Wes Rogerson (wrogerson@unfoundation.org) or call (202) 887-9040.
