COMMUNITY OUTREACH COORDINATOR JOB DESCRIPTION
Under direction, the Community Outreach Coordinator assists with developing, maintaining, and promoting effective community and intergovernmental relationships with Municipal Leaders, Civic Associations, Advocacy Groups, Constituents, and other relevant organizations identified by the Legislative Aide and Delegate Washington.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
The Community Outreach Coordinator will report directly to the Legislative Aide.
TIME COMMITMENT:
Part time position (15-20 hours/wk.) to include evening and some weekend hours.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Community Outreach Coordinator will:
Attend and represent the Delegate at all Civic Association, PTA, and community
meetings. The Community Outreach Coordinator will: Obtain thorough descriptions and
details prior to community events and meetings; Brief the Delegate on all relevant
community concerns following each community event and meeting; Provide outreach
materials to constituents and record relevant information, such as name, address, phone
number, and e-mail address
Send an introductory e-mail to constituents following a community meeting or outreach
event
Manage and maintain the constituent database
Establish and maintain frequent contact with Civic Association Presidents, PTA
Presidents, and Municipal Leaders. The Community Outreach Coordinator will: Contact
Civic Association Presidents twice a month; Contact Mayors once per month; Attend
Municipal Council meetings once every two months
Work closely with the Legislative Aide to address individual constituent concerns
brought forth during community meetings and outreach events.
Develop and execute opportunities for community outreach and education. The
Community Outreach Coordinator will: Facilitate Town Hall and Community Outreach
meetings; Remain abreast of relevant community meetings and events; Assist with
developing content for the monthly newsletter.
Develop working knowledge of the Delegate’s Legislative agenda and remain
knowledgeable of issues relevant to the District.
Assist with door-to-door outreach.
Submit bi-weekly timesheets.
