Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarships enable US undergraduate Pell Grant recipients to study or intern abroad, providing them with skills critical to US national security and economic prosperity.
Scholars participate in credit-bearing programs in locations with Level 1 or Level 2 Travel Advisories, according to the State Department. Eligible programs/internships must start between May 1, 2023 and April 30, 2024. Students studying critical-need languages may be eligible for an additional award of up to $3,000.
The John S. McCain International Scholarship for Military Families (Gilman-McCain Scholarship) provides awards of $5,000 for child and spousal dependents of active or activated US military personnel to study or intern abroad on credit-bearing programs. US Citizens.
