The Boren Scholarship offers undergraduates up to $25,000 for long-term (two semesters; one for STEM majors) study abroad focused on learning critical languages. US Citizenship is required, All classes including seniors are eligible. Campus deadline: January 24, 2024.

African Flagship Languages Initiative (AFLI) - Offers the opportunity for intensive language study through domestic and overseas language programs in French, Swahili, Akan/Twi, Wolof, or Zulu.
South Asian Flagship Languages Initiative (SAFLI) - Offers the opportunity for intensive study of either Hindi or Urdu through a combination of domestic and overseas programs.
Southeast Asian Flagship Languages Initiative (SEAFLI) - Offers the opportunity for intensive study of either Indonesian, Thai, or Vietnamese through a combination of domestic and overseas programs.
Turkish Flagship Language Initiative (TURFLI) - Offers the opportunity for intensive study of the Turkish language through a combination of domestic and overseas programs.
*The Boren Scholarship is a U.S. Government-funded award that seeks applicants who have a strong interest in future Government service; the award carries a one-year service expectation.*
