Girl Security Mentee Application
Girl Security works with mentees 14-26 years of age from around the US and its territories. They pair women and gender minority national security mentors from all sectors, all levels of experience, and from all around the country with mentees who share a professional interest, identity, and/or set of experiences. Girl Security mentees are between the ages of 14-26, identify as a girl, woman, or gender minority, based in the United States or its territories, be interested in a career in the national security field, commit to regular conversations with their assigned mentor(s), and agree to abide by the Girl Security Code of Conduct. Paid Internships with the European Parliament Office in the US
The European Parliament Liaison Office in DC invites recent graduates with the right to work in the United States to apply for a full-time, paid internship. Candidates must have completed studies at least at undergraduate level and must be able to provide a diploma/official transcript at least one month before the beginning of the internship. Interns receive a monthly stipend of €1,350, accident and sickness insurance, and two days of personal leave per month. Deadline for Spring 2024: November 17, 2023 https://washington.europarl.

They consider financial need, demographic factors, and academic plan and preparedness to decide scholarship recipients. Demographic factors that are considered include minority background, first-generation college student status, and community college experience. Candidates must be: US citizens or permanent residents, currently enrolled as an undergraduate at a college or university in the US (graduate students are ineligible), and slated for a study abroad program that is eligible for credit at the student’s home institution and lasts at least 28 days in country/countries. Naval Horizons introduces students to cutting-edge Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics topics that impact the US Navy and Marine Corps – to include autonomy, oceanography, cybersecurity, undersea medicine, and more. Students learn about Naval STEM challenges through a video series. Then, students write an essay explaining how the research and people inspire them. This contest challenges students to picture themselves in a STEM career by designing the US Navy and Marine Corps of the future. Judges will select up to 5,000 winners. All winners are eligible to receive a $200 cash prize. Exceptional essays may be highlighted on a Naval STEM web page and will be designated Naval Horizons Highest Honors.
