SECU
recently announced our partnership with the University System of
Maryland Foundation (USMF) to establish a scholarship program for
Maryland community college graduates transferring to
four year Maryland universities. USMF will manage and administer SECU’s
$50,000 gift as ten individual $5,000 scholarships to students
transitioning from one of the state’s two-year community colleges to any
of USM’s 12 institutions and two regional higher
educational centers for the fall 2013 semester.

• Applicants must be Maryland community college students applying for admission to one
of the
University System of Maryland’s undergraduate-degree granting institutions, and who have earned,
or anticipate earning, an associate’s degree prior to transferring to the USM institution.

• Scholarship awards will be based on academic merit (at least a B average) and demonstrated
financial need.
