Senator Chris Coons (D-DE) seeks interns for his office in Washington, D.C. for the fall 2019 internship session. Responsibilities include answering phones, greeting visitors, sorting mail, and assisting front office and legislative staff.
Internship positions can be full- or part-time, however part-time interns must commit to at least 20 hours per week. This position requires outstanding organizational abilities, strong communication skills, attention to detail, poise, and flexibility. Motivated, hard-working, and professional applicants looking to experience the day-to-day operations of a Senate office are encouraged to apply.
Interested candidates should visit Senator Coons’ website at www.coons.senate.gov where the application portal can be found under the tab “Services.” It will require a completed questionnaire, a resume, cover letter, two professional references, and one brief (2-3 pages) writing sample related to your major.
Additionally, the office offers paid internships to qualified applicants with demonstrated financial need. Those who are interested in and eligible to receive a paid internship are required to submit additional application materials to help determine their financial need.
