• Students will learn about the living conditions of a growing population, understand the interaction of nutrition and food security with other sectors, explore policies and program implementation, and apply their knowledge and new skills in designing nutrition messages to promote health.
• Students will attend seminars by local experts, university professors, and the program director. Visits will also be made to ministerial departments, local NGOs, and agencies that deal with food and nutrition security, markets, and local communities.
• Students will be enrolled in the following three (3) credit UMD course: NFSC498.

Dr. Margaret Udahogora is the program director and will lead students throughout the program. A
lecturer at the University of Maryland, Dr. Udahogora has an international background in Agriculture, Nutrition and Nutrition Policy and completed her training in Rwanda, Kenya, and the USA. For course, itinerary or in-country information, please contact Margaret Udahogora at mudahogo@ umd.edu.
