This internship experience launched by One World Leadership Institute--Africa offers students the opportunity to "delve into hands-on learning in Kenya, a country of abundant wildlife, dramatic landscapes, and a highly diverse culture. Spend one week engaged in coursework in Nairobi alongside Kenyan students, followed by working as an intern or conducting a research project" for up to 5 additional weeks. Options "include community-based participatory research, community service, community-wide health and economic development, information and communications technology (ICT), community agribusiness projects, environmental justice, legal aid clinics, social entrepreneurship, business literacy, education, and arts and culture." NOTE: This is not a UMD program. Students must obtain permission from the UMD Education Abroad office.
