To celebrate the upcoming 50 days until graduation, the Feller Center in BSOS is hosting a Senior Snapshot session! Stop by to take your branded BSOS photo & pick up your "BSOS Graduation Mug" (while supplies last)! 

The Feller Center is providing a festive backdrop and props that you can choose from to share your post-graduation plans with your network. Just bring your phone so we can snap the photo for your use!

No prior registration is required.

Attention Graduating Seniors!

As you prepare to embark on your next journey after graduating from the University of Maryland, what reflections would you share with your fellow graduates?

The College of Behavioral and Social Sciences will select two students, one undergraduate and one graduate student, to deliver a 3-minute speech at a commencement event. The theme of the speech is entirely up to you, but must speak to all graduates from the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences.

A winning speech will:

• Emphasize experiences unique to the University of Maryland and the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences
• Have a clear theme
• Be well-written
• Be delivered in 3-4 minutes

The selected student speaker will get to deliver their message to students, faculty, and guests during a BSOS commencement event. 

 Eligibility

• A GPA of 3.50 or better
• Cleared for Spring 2021 graduation
• Undergraduate candidates must have completed at least 60 credits at the University of Maryland, College Park 

 You will be required to answer the questions below along with the submission of a resume/CV and 2 references:

1. What is your BSOS and Maryland journey? 

2. What would be 1) memorable UMCP experiences, 2) experiences unique to BSOS 3) other reflections, and 4) goals/hope for the future that you would want to share with the audience?

3. Why do you feel like you should be selected to be featured among your graduating class?

Join UMD and BSOS for Virtual Commencement!

Class of 2020, we want to celebrate you!

Join UMD at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 22 for the virtual UMD commencement, which will be streamed via commencement.umd.edu. The BSOS ceremony will be streamed immediately following, at approximately 1:45 p.m., also via commencement.umd.edu.

The BSOS ceremony will feature remarks by Dean Gregory F. Ball; Rahila Olanrewaju, B.A. '20 (Economics), and Dr. Amanda Hoffman-Hall, Ph.D. '20 (Geographical Sciences).

Don't forget to attend the Grad Fair at the University Book Center in Stamp to purchase your Commencement regalia! Regalia is required for all students in order to attend Commencement. The university strongly encourages all students to purchase regalia at the Grad Fair. 

This year the grad fair will be held on March 10-12 at Stamp.
