UMD Admissions - Student Tour Guide Positions Now Posted!

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions is thrilled to announce the opening of student tour guide positions starting this fall! Previously, student tour guides were part of a student organization known as the IMAGERs, which has been active on campus since 1984 and recently celebrated its 40th anniversary.

In collaboration with the IMAGERs, there has been a transition to a fully paid model for tour guides. This change will enable the Office of Undergraduate Admissions to work more closely with our guides on strategic goals for campus tours and ensure the team represents the diversity and entirety of our university.

EVS is looking to hire approximately 50 guides and four coordinators. The coordinator roles come with additional responsibilities, detailed in the job descriptions. Students can apply for both the campus tour guide and campus tour guide coordinator positions through e-jobs using these links. The best consideration deadline for applications is July 26th, and we look forward to interviewing a diverse pool of candidates.

Civic and Activism Remote Internship

An Internship opportunity has opened up with TurnUp, a 501(c)(3) non-partisan non-profit organization dedicated to increasing youth civic education, empowerment, and activism. They  were recently featured in Forbes as a standout non-profit organization.

They are again offering our Civic and Activism Remote Internship for your students at University of Maryland. The nonprofit has been working with students year round since 2019 and is been thrilled by the enthusiasm and development of our graduates! Their capacity has grown to meet Gen Z's passion and they are excited to bring this invitation to students at University of Maryland. This is the
application link.

The program's format is tailored to accommodate the ever fluctuating commitments and responsibilities of a student's lifestyle, their program is fully remote, has rolling admission, encourages campus engagement, and has a flexible time frame and schedule. All students have access to grow into more capable and responsible citizens and to develop their professional skills for a successful future.

Students join remote teams that are energized by mission-driven, diverse students from around the country who work on amplifying youth civic engagement and learn about responsible activism on many social justice issues. Along with our unique curriculum, peer to peer learning and expert speakers deepen their experience. Most colleges have counted student's hours for college course credit and our program has been invaluable for bolstering resumes, widening networking reach, and for earning letters of recommendation.

They would like to invite students at University of Maryland to apply. The application link is
 here at
bit.ly/tuinternship and the deadline for applications is rolling.

Here is a
detailed description of their program for more information their website and a flyer to view.

If you have further questions, they welcome the opportunity to talk with you about the program. Please feel free to sign up to join an information session with me here. If none of these times are convenient for you, please reach out to schedule a 1:1 meeting.
