Call for Student Papers: Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft

 The Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft invites students to write a persuasive essay on the US military industrial complex. Strong essays will advance a clear perspective on the issue, supported by strong argumentation, knowledge of the subject matter, good writing, and originality. 

Open to students of any citizenship who are/will be attending institutions in the US in 2023 (both college students who will graduate in 2023 and high school seniors or others who currently plan to attend a US college at any point in 2023). 

First prize is $500, publication in Responsible Statecraft, and a Zoom call with Andrew Bacevich.

Last Chance: Apply by 3/4 for the Herbstein Memorial Scholarship in Fiction Writing

The Sebastian Herbstein Memorial Scholarship in Fiction Writing is a memorial scholarship that honors the memory of Sebastian Herbstein, a talented writer, dedicated scholar and son of UMD professor, Judith Freidenberg, which provides two prizes, $600 for first prize and $300 for second prize, for works of short fiction of 5,000 words or less. All full-time UMD undergraduate students are eligible to apply.

2022 Call for Submissions -- Dartmouth Undergraduate Journal of Politics, Economics, and World Affairs

  The Dartmouth Undergraduate Journal of Politics, Economics and World Affairs, an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed publication from Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. DUJPEW publishes integrative scholarship relating to politics, economics and international relations by current undergraduate students, and we are now seeking submissions for our 2022 issue. DUJPEW’s past issues can be viewed here. The journal has been downloaded across six continents by educational, commercial, governmental, and military institutions alike. Scholarship in DUJPEW is seen by high-ranking scholars, public servants and professionals, instantly improving the reputation of our contributors’ work and providing them with further credibility in fields they may choose to pursue down the line.
DUJPEW looks to publish articles between 4,500 and 15,000 words, excluding citations and appendices, submitted by currently enrolled undergraduates at institutions around the world. Our editorial board, comprised entirely of Dartmouth students and overseen by Dartmouth faculty, carefully examines all submissions relating to politics, economics and international relations in an effort to publish the most forward-thinking and relevant scholarship possible.

Submission Guidelines:
1.) Submissions should be between 4,500 and 15,000 words in length
2.) Submissions should be emailed to Dartmouth.Undergraduate.Journal.PEW@dartmouth.edu

4.) Submissions should be attached to the email in the form of a Word or PDF attachment with the document titled: "LastnameFirstname_DUJPEW"
5.) The subject line of the email should contain the author’s full name and the title of the submission (Example: "Firstname Lastname -- Title of the Submission")
6.) Papers must be submitted by Friday, March 4th, 2022 at midnight EST

Call for Submissions -- NYU American Public Policy Review


Call for Submissions—N.Y.U. American Public Policy Review 

 
The N.Y.U. American Public Policy Review seeks articles by undergraduate and graduate students that propose bold, novel American policy ideas that are not yet part of the political mainstream or that warrant additional scholarship. The Policy Review is a faculty-reviewed electronic journal managed by undergraduate students at New York University, currently accepting manuscript submissions with a deadline of September 31, 2021 for publication this fall. No specific length of article is required; however, all submissions should be detailed, thoroughly researched, and include appropriate references. Most submissions are between 4,000 and 8,000 words. 

The journal's editors seek to amplify the brightest public policy proposals of current students through rigorous intellectual review, and they encourage students of any discipline, any level of study, and any accredited academic institution to submit an article for publication. Guidelines for authors and information on how to submit manuscripts are available at nyuappr.pubpub.org/submit. The journal is an open-access publication and does not charge a publication fee to authors.

Journal of Politics and International Affairs (JPIA) seeking submissions

 The Journal of Politics & International Affairs (JPIA) is seeking qualified undergraduate student submissions to be published in the Spring 2021 issue. JPIA is a student-run journal that publishes papers written by undergraduate students in the areas of Political Science, International Studies, Economics, Public Affairs, Social Science, and related fields. Publication in the Journal is an opportunity to reach a wider audience outside of the class, as well as a learning experience through the editing and feedback process.

We seek to publish high-quality papers that address current events and relevant subjects in the area of politics and international affairs. Ideal submissions are both informative and argumentative with well-developed theses and strong mechanics. The Journal typically publishes original research, undergraduate theses, and essays written for upper-level courses although all majors and class ranks are invited.

"Are the United States and China on a path to conflict?" 2019 Essay Contest

The John Quincy Adams Society and The National Interest are pleased to announce their 2019 essay contest for 
college students. The winner will be published in The National Interest, will receive $1,000, and will have a seat at the 
Society’s 2019 student leadership conference in Washington, D.C. Several runners up and honorable mentions will 
also be recognized.

Essays are due by the end of the day on Sunday, March 24, 2019, and must be between 900 and 1200 words in
