Pixar Animation Studies—Car Paint to Kilt Plaid

How do we make fake things look like real things?  Come discover how we ground the magic of computer animation in a believable world of materials and surfaces!

Presenter, Mr. Bob Moyer graduated from the University of Maryland in 2000 with a degree in Computer Graphics through the Individual Studies Program.  He then earned a graduate degree in Visualization Sciences from Texas A&M.  At Pixar Animation Studios, Bob has worked on such Pixar films as “Cars”, “Ratatouille”, “Cars 2”, and the Oscar winning “Up”.  Mr. Moyer was honored in 2009 with a Distinguished Alumni Award for the College of Undergraduate Studies.

The event is free and open to the public. There will be a reception with hot food following the presentation (Presentation Van Munching Hall Room 1524; Reception in Van Munching Hall Room 2517).
