About Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy

At McCourt, we see policymakers as change agents who address important crosscutting issues, including job creation, healthcare access, sustainable energy initiatives, and poverty alleviation. We train our students to become global policy leaders at all levels of government; at think tanks and consulting firms; and at community action groups and NGOs.

We offer several different graduate degrees, including our flagship Master in Public Policy, our newly launched Master in Data Science for Public Policy, and our Master in International Development Policy. We also offer dual graduate degrees in conjunction with Georgetown's Walsh School of Foreign Service, McDonough School of Business, and Georgetown Law Center, among other schools and departments around campus.

This is a particularly exciting time to study at McCourt as we are now home to several research and policy institutes, including the Institute of Politics and Public ServiceThe Baker Center for Leadership and Governance, and the Massive Data Institute. These centers host speaker events and conferences with local and global leaders, engage students through research and leadership roles, and award grants to encourage students to pursue innovative solutions to policy issues. Because of McCourt’s position as the premier policy school in the nation’s capital, our students also have unparalleled opportunities to apply what they learn in the classroom via internships and interaction with leading policymakers, among other experiential learning activities.

Interested candidates can find information on applying to our degree programs here. Applications submitted by the January 15 priority deadline will be considered for merit-based scholarshipsincluding the prestigious McCourt Scholar Awards, which include full tuition, a stipend, and other benefits. The extended application deadline is April 1.

We hope that you will be able to join us at our November 7th recruiting event for undergraduate students (see above for details). If you are unable to make it to this event, there are several other ways that you can connect with McCourt through graduate fairs and information sessions. Please check our website for a full list of recruiting events. For applicants who cannot attend one of our recruiting events, we are open year-round for on-campus visitsWe also encourage applicants to reach out to our Admissions Ambassadors to learn more about what McCourt has to offer.
