Congressional Internship

The Office of Congressman Barney Frank seeks a full-time press intern to assist in a broad range of communications-related tasks. Duties including tracking broadcast radio and television stories, helping to set up press conferences, tracking press requests, maintaining the press calendar, drafting or copy-editing materials, transcribing and summarizing interview segments, conducting general or legislative research, updating the web site using a content management system, recording audio or video at events, processing video for upload to YouTube, and other tasks as needed.

The position requires strong writing and editing skills. General knowledge of the political process and national issues is essential. Additional familiarity with financial issues, economics, and LGBT issues is helpful.

Massachusetts experience is a plus.

This person will work closely with the Communications Director and Deputy Communications Director. A four to six-month commitment required.

This position will be excellent training for individuals wishing to pursue a career in political communications.
