Internship with Representatitive Allyson Y. Schwartz

A Congressional internship provides an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience, and observe first-hand how our government operates. I welcome and encourage all that are interested in either full or part-time internships in my Washington, D.C. or District offices to submit their resumes. Interns gain practical work experience by undertaking a variety of administrative and legislative responsibilities in the office.

Interns in the Washington office draft constituent correspondence, attend briefings and Congressional hearings, and prepare memoranda for me and members of my staff. Interns in the District offices conduct research, assist with constituent casework and draft correspondence. Interns in both offices maintain large responsibility for answering phones, data entry and general office systems operations. Interns are an important part of my staff.

Internships are available expressly for the purpose of furthering educational and professional objectives, therefore they are unpaid and usually awarded to undergraduate students and recent graduates.

Application Process

Both my Washington and District Offices are currently accepting applications for next semester.
Priority is given to applicants from Pennsylvania's 13th Congressional District, although all interested persons are encouraged to apply. Selection is based on an applicant's general office and computer experience, as well as an interview.

Please apply no earlier than three months prior to your start date. Congresswoman Schwartz’s office will not review applications until that time.

Please submit your cover letter and resume to:
