Menger Student Essay Contest

In seeking to recognize and encourage scholarship in the Austrian tradition, the Carl Menger Essay Contest, hosted by the Society for the Development of Austrian Economics (SDAE) in collaboration with the Foundation for Economic Education and the Charles Koch Foundation, invites essays that explore, advance, challenge, or apply the ideas of the Austrian and related schools. This is a creative avenue for students to engage with the ideas and concepts of Austrian economics and related thinkers, including Smith, Hume, and Bastiat.

More information is available at
FEE.org/menger.

This contest, which is open to undergrads and recent grads from any discipline, offers an excellent outlet through which students can expose their work to a larger audience. Three winners will each receive $500 conditional on attending and presenting during the SDAE's meetings at the
Southern Economic Association conference taking place November 22-24, 2014, in Atlanta, Georgia.

Submissions are due September 1, 2014. If your students have any questions, please put them in touch or you can direct them to
Emily.Skarbek@kcl.ac.uk.
