International development consulting firm internship

This company is looking for graduate students, but extremely qualified undergrads may apply!
The Kaizen Company (Kaizen) is a small international development consulting firm located in Washington, DC. We aspire to transform the nature and impact of development assistance and work to strengthen organizations and institutions through innovative approaches to organizational development, reform, and change. Kaizen is currently seeking graduate students to join our team as part-time or full-time Associates (interns) for the Fall Semester 2014.
This internship is best suited for MBA, Management, Development or Foreign Affairs graduate students interested in entering the field of international development. The internship comes with a modest stipend. It is expected that the selected associate will work part time (at least 20-25 hours per week) or full time, depending on availability during the semester. This internship is intended for DC-based students only.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with New Business Development activities including monitoring upcoming proposals, proposal coordination/ management, and research as applicable
  • Help with recruiting and partnering efforts for projects and proposals as necessary
  • Contribute to the development and research of new, innovative service offerings
  • Carry out diverse USAID project management tasks on an as-needed basis including processing expense reports, invoices, and helping to mobilize consultants as applicable
The ideal candidate:
  • Is an entrepreneurial self-starter, and works well without excessive supervision.
  • Has previous professional experience, ideally working in consulting, management, organizational reform, or information technology.
  • Is interested in entering the field of development assistance.
  • Has strong internet research skills.
  • Is a good communicator.
  • Is currently enrolled in a graduate program (required).
  • Graphic design, social media, and communications skills is a plus.
