2016 Elections Opportunities for Graduating Seniors

Job Opportunity- Work for Progress Election Canvass Directors

Work for Progress seeks Election Canvass Directors.  Canvass Directors will help us elect candidates who will fight to reverse global warming, get big money out of politics and help young people deal with the rising cost of college and student debt. Applicants should be friendly, outgoing, politically savvy, and creative. You will recruit and oversee a team of committed canvasser activists to have face to face conversation with voters in critical districts this summer and fall.

For the 2016 election, Work For Progress will partner with Fair Share Action and Environment America Voter Action to help elect candidates who want to make a difference on issues like global warming and getting big
money out of politics. We will launch close to 20 field offices in critical states like New Hampshire, Virginia, Florida, or Colorado. We are looking for Canvass Directors to manage these operations.

You will design a recruitment strategy, write and place ads, and interview and hire top candidates.

Manage a field plan: As you build your team, you will send your staff into the field to talk with targeted voters. Directors are responsible for creating and managing a plan that involves speaking with tens of
thousands of specially identified voters in precincts around the office.

Manage & train your team of canvassers: You will need to train your team in the best practices for communicating with and motivating voters. Each day, you will hold training sessions in the office, and each week you will get out in the field, yourself, where you will canvass and train your staff hands-on.
