Office of the Chief of Staff
Unpaid Internships for Undergraduate and Graduate Students
Spring & Summer 2019
This internship is with the Office of the Chief of Staff to the Prince George’s County Executive. The location would primarily be in the County Administration Building in Largo, but there will be opportunities to work remotely. This program offers local college/university students the opportunity to support office operations, research policy, and develop leadership skills, all while engaging local leaders and learning County government. The internship is for credit with the institution where the student is enrolled.
Interns will complete challenging projects assigned by the Chief of Staff. Projects will range from policy research and analysis to community outreach to general administrative duties. Interns will get firsthand knowledge and exposure to what it takes to build a more efficient government. Interns should be goal oriented, excellent at time management, and able to work well in teams.
Applicants seeking consideration must be enrolled in a 4-year college/university or graduate program. Undergraduate applicants must have completed at least two years of undergraduate study in a curriculum related to public policy, government, law, business or other related fields. Graduate student interns must be enrolled in a Masters, Doctoral, Law Degree or a Graduate Certificate Program of study.
The Office of the Prince George's County Executive is seeking interns to begin immediately and work through the spring semester and potentially the summer. The term of the internship will be dictated by the calendar of the institution with which each intern is enrolled.
