As a project of Del. Love’s re-election campaign, StandUp MD will bring together a cohort of passionate student leaders to train and educate them to help elect pro-choice candidates across Maryland during the 2022 primary and general election. We are also thrilled to announce that we are partnering with Representative Jamie Raskin in this project and that StandUp fellows will also be able to participate in the educational component of Rep. Raskin’s renowned Democracy Summer fellowship program.

Delegate Love has spent her entire career fighting for reproductive justice. As the former General Counsel of NARAL Pro-Choice America, she is extraordinarily well-equipped to lead this initiative and we are working hard to make this an educationally and professionally lucrative experience for students.
Delegate Love and I came up with the idea for StandUp MD in direct response to the SCOTUS opinion draft leak threatening to overturn Roe v. Wade. As a result, we have a quick turnaround! We have tried to make the application process as easy as possible and are asking students to submit their applications by no later than 11:59pm on June 6th. The program begins on June 15th.
