KAGC Congressional Fellowship program

The Korean American Grassroots Conference (KAGC) is a not-for-profit, non-partisan organization with a mission of uplifting the Korean American community through active civic engagement and, in turn, bolstering the U.S.-R.O.K alliance. Each summer, we host a cohort of undergraduate students in Washington D.C. and prepare them to work in congressional offices, and as of 2017 we have hosted a total of 25 students from 19 schools in 17 Democrat and Republican offices. Each Fellow is equipped with mentorial, financial, and programmatic support for the duration of their congressional internship. Enrichment Opportunities
Applicants accepted to the KAGC Congressional Fellowship, before their interviews with the host offices, are provided with webinars and one-on-one coaching on resume revision, cover letter writing, and interview preparations. They are also provided with webinars on the overview of the U.S. Congress, legislative process, and budget process. For those placed in a congressional office through the KAGC Congressional Fellowship program, KAGC hosts panel discussions with current Hill staffers, social events open to other interns on the Hill and across Washington, D.C., meet and greet events with leaders in public service, and education programs on the key issues of the Korean American community. For the summers of 2020 and 2021, such events took place remotely via Zoom. All of these events provide our Fellows a speaking role and are open to any students wishing to participate.
