Paid Hybrid Internship with Maryland State Senator Karen Lewis Young

 
Maryland State Senator is seeking a student intern for the spring semester. Perfect opportunity for college or graduate students interested in working in public policy. The internship will be a hybrid position located in the Annapolis office. The hours are flexible to accommodate student course schedules.

The duties of those interning in our Annapolis, MD office may include:

• Answering constituent phone calls and directing them appropriately

• Researching legislation for the Member and legislative staff

• Attending legislative hearings and policy briefings

• Answering constituent letters on various issues before the Senate

• Helping the communications/press team

• Other projects as assigned by the staff

As a result, interns learn about the legislative process and the many other functions of a state senate office.
