America's Unofficial Ambassadors is a citizen diplomacy initiative dedicated to improving relations between America and Muslim world through volunteer service. AUA is a program of Creative Learning, a Washington, DC-based not-for-profit organization. AUA is increasing the number of Americans who volunteer in the Middle East, Asia and Africa. AUA's upcoming summer programs in Indonesia and Zanzibar offer students a chance to gain hands-on professional experience, learn languages and earn academic credit. Etiquette Dinner

Learn the answers to these questions and many more at the Alumni Association Etiquette Dinner at the Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center on Tuesday, November 13 from 6-8 p.m. Enjoy a delectable meal and learn proper dining etiquette that will dazzle your friends and family—not to mention prospective employers! A certified etiquette expert will guide participants through a sit down, 3-course meal, providing lessons on everything from eating utensils to interesting conversation starters.

The Herald Group is looking for a highly motivated, career oriented individual looking to gain hands on knowledge of public affairs and strategic communications. The intern should possess excellent interpersonal skills, good writing and verbal communication ability as well as excellent knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. The candidate should be a team player and able to handle multiple tasks at the same time.
 
The Herald Group is a boutique public affairs firm in Washington, D.C., that provides strategic communications counsel to major corporations, trade associations and other organizations seeking to advance a policy position or raise awareness in Washington, D.C., or in state capitals. This is a part-time, paid position.
 
The intern will support client account teams in delivering high-quality strategic communications services. While the role involves administrative duties, the ideal candidate will assist with the coordination and execution of client projects.
 
Intern work may include, and is not limited to, the following:
•              Media list development
•              Daily and ad hoc media clip reporting
•              Internet research
•              Administrative projects/tasks
•              Media pitching
•              Press release drafting
•              Supporting team leaders on activities and projects
 
QUALIFICATIONS
•              Current undergraduate student with an interest in communications, as well as an interest in politics and policy
•              Majoring in Communication, Public Relations, Journalism, English or Political Science
•              Ability to work 24 hours a week
•              3.0 grade point average or better
•              Strong written and interpersonal communication skills
•              Strong research skills
•              Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
•              Team-oriented and positive attitude
•              Self-starter who will seek opportunities to assist team members
