SGA's Maryland Invests: College Affordability Essay Contest

I want to encourage each of you to submit and essay for SGA's Maryland Invests: College Affordability Essay Contest. They have a number of entries already, but they would love to receive more essays.

To remind you, the essay contest asks UMD students to write an essay about why Maryland should keep college affordable. A panel of staff members and students will select the top 3 submissions, whose authors will win a semester's worth of textbooks, two tickets to the Maryland vs. Duke basketball game in the Athletic Director's suite, or an iPad 2. The essays will be consolidated and put into a book, a copy of which will be distributed to each Maryland state delegate and senator before they make decisions about tuition rates for next year. You can find more details here: mdsga.com/marylandinvests.

This contest has the potential to make a huge difference, but they need students who are willing to share their stories in order to have a meaningful impact.
