Undergraduate Studies faculty teaching awards

The Office of Undergraduate Studies is seeking nominations of University of Maryland faculty members for two teaching awards. These awards, given annually, are the Undergraduate Studies Programs Teaching Award and the Undergraduate Studies General Education Teaching Award.

Based on undergraduate student nominations, the Office of Undergraduate Studies will recognize two faculty members for excellence in teaching: one faculty member teaching in an Undergraduate Studies Program, and one faculty member teaching in a General Education Program. The two recognized faculty will receive $1,000 cash awards and be acknowledged in a ceremony held on May 10, 2013.

To submit a nomination a student who has taken a course in an Undergraduate Studies Program or in either CORE or the new General Education Program should consult the Undergraduate Studies Teaching Excellence Award page at http://www.ugst.umd.edu/teachingaward.html. An email to all students will go out this week.

Nominations are due by April 1, 2013.
