The ICE Office of Policy works with offices across ICE to identify, develop, and communicate agency policies and priorities dealing with immigration and customs policy and operations.  As a Policy Intern, you will be responsible for performing a variety of duties related to the daily work of the Office of Policy.  These include, but are not limited to, assisting and supporting the Assistant Director and staff in the development of policy, strategic guidance and regulations; performing administrative operations and activities; and handling special projects, assignments and other duties as assigned.  The ICE Office of Policy is a small, dynamic group where all work collaboratively in a team setting to achieve agency priorities.
 

Desired or Preferred Major, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

Excellent writing and communication skills and a strong attention to detail are a must.  Additionally, applicants should have the ability to multi-task, possess strong interpersonal skills, and be able to use various software applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.  Desired education level includes college, graduate school or law school. No specific major required. 

Desired Hours of Availability: At least 20 hours weekly.
 

Desired Start Date: As soon as possible pending a background suitability check.  All positions will remain open until filled.  Flexibility exists as to the total length of the volunteer internship.
