Apply to graduate school with the IRT!

The Institute for Recruitment of Teachers (IRT) supports students committed to diversity who wish to attain advanced degrees in the humanitiessocial sciences, or education and pursue careers in educationeducation administration, or counseling at K-12 schools or colleges and universities. 

Benefits include:

  • Individualized support and extensive counseling as you choose your field of graduate study and apply to renowned consortium graduate programs across the country
  • Application fee waivers for up to 12 consortium schools
  • Assistance fine-tuning statements of purpose
  • Approximately two months and $1,000 saved on completing applications
Applicants to IRT must:
  • Be undergraduate juniors, seniors, or graduates of an accredited college or university
  • Major in the humanities, social sciences, mathematics, or education
  • Have earned an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher (3.5 GPA or higher if currently or previously enrolled in a master’s program)
  • Seriously consider a teaching, counseling, or administrative career at the K-12 or university level
