Apply for the MGA Internship Program (and Get Professional Writing Credit)

Are you interested in how decisions are made in Maryland? Want to get great professional experiencce? Apply for the English Department's Maryland General Assembly (MGA) Internship Program. Interns at the MGA work as integral members ofa legislative staff, write letters and committee testimony, research policy, work with constituents, and assist legislators with other activities during the 90-day 2016 legislative session.

To be eligible, students must:

  • be a junior or senior by fall 2015
  • be able to commit to the fall course and spring internship
  • have a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • have grades of A or B in any writing courses they have taken.
Benefits to participating in the program:
  • Satisfies the Professional Writing Requirement
  • Earn 3 credits in the fall, 6 in the spring
  • Gain invaluable professional experience
