Gerard E. Evans, Ltd. — a full-service lobbying firm in Annapolis — is seeking a dedicated and interested intern willing to work in our incredibly fast-paced and ever-changing office during this upcoming Legislative Session. The position will run from January 14th until around the last day of session, April 13th.

This is a paid position (a base of $10/hr). A suitable candidate’s availability would be the majority of the day on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday; if you’re able to also work on Monday and Friday, that’s a bonus. As a student, our priority is ensuring you’re able to attend all your classes and complete all your school work and will do what's possible to keep your schedule with us flexible.

While legislative and/or legal experience is not a requirement, we expect our intern to have at least a general understanding and/or interest in what we do. We are happy to teach and guide you through what we ask of you, but also expect you to quickly pick up the ropes.

Some duties we will ask you to perform include:
    • Attend hearings/briefings and then author report/memos for clients on the status of legislation on a wide variety of issues;
    • Organize presentational/informational materials on behalf of our clients for submission to legislative committees;
    • Track current legislation and research past legislation;
    • Attend events (e.g. Legislative receptions)
As the legislative session starts on January 14th, we are looking to fill this position rather quickly, so if you contact us, please be prepared to interview just as quickly.

For more information, please contact Paul Rowe at 410-990-1521 or prowe@lobbymd.com (he will be checking email over the weekend of 1/10-1/11, but will not be available via phone until 1/12).
