GIC Conference - Ohio State University

 The Department of Political Science at The Ohio State University is pleased to announce its annual Graduate Immersion Conference (GIC) , which will take place on April 6-7, 2023. The GIC provides students from underrepresented backgrounds interested in a graduate career in Political Science with a professional yet low-pressure academic setting to discuss their research (either completed or in progress). Recruited scholars will participate in panels and receive constructive feedback from faculty and graduate discussants. Students will also receive advice on applying to PhD programs and have the chance to speak with our PhD students about life in graduate school. Participants will be flown out to our campus in Columbus, Ohio and will receive a fee waiver for the next OSU PhD application cycle. Undergraduate students of all backgrounds pursuing a degree in political science, international relations, economics, or a related discipline are eligible to apply. Feel free to distribute this email, along with the attached flyer, to your students and colleagues. 

Applications are due Wednesday March 1st, 2023 by midnight. We request the following application materials:
(1) completion of the brief online application form
(2) a transcript (an unofficial copy is accepted)
(3) Curriculum Vitae 
(3) title and abstract of the research paper (limit 500 words)
(4) Interest statement (limit 500 words)
(4) a letter of recommendation from a student’s faculty sponsor or advisor (the letter may be submitted separately via email to graduateimmersionconference.osu@gmail.com).
