Apply for START's Countering Violent Extremism Fellowship


Are you a UMD Sophomore? Are you interested in understanding more about what can be done to curb terrorism before radicalization occurs? Would you like to work and research with leading experts in the field of radicalization and countering violent extremism while earning a full tuition scholarship and living stipend? Consider applying for The National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START)’s Countering 
Violent Extremism Fellowship this fall!

As a part of this program you will receive:
· A full tuition scholarship for five semesters, two summer courses, and one winter course,
· A monthly living stipend for two-and-a-half years, and,
· A travel and living stipend for two summers of research—one in Chicago and one in Dubai.

In addition to the scholarship, you will engage in specialized coursework and research on how to counter violent extremism and how to train others to deploy these tactics on the ground. You will also participate in a suite of programming developed by START to help develop professional skills to aid you in securing employment in the homeland security enterprise after graduation from UMD.
