FINAL WEEK TO APPLY For The White House Office of Presidential Correspondence | Summer 2015 Associate Program

The White House Office of Presidential Correspondence (OPC) Associate Program is open every spring, summer, and fall, and we are currently accepting applications for the summer 2015 semester.  Associates work alongside our staff and interns, gaining valuable professional experience while learning about the White House and the Federal Government.

OPC plays a key role in facilitating an open dialogue between the President and the American people.  The office’s mission is to listen to and understand the stories and concerns of the American people, and to respond on behalf of the President.  Staffers, interns, and associates process letters and email; calls coming into the White House Comment Line; gifts sent to the First Family; requests for Presidential proclamations, messages, and greetings; and requests for assistance with Federal agencies.  The office also provides the President with a daily sample of 10 letters to help keep him in touch with the real-life and diverse experiences of people across our country.

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and hold U.S. citizenship, and they must be currently enrolled in or recently finished with a degree seeking program.  Our associates serve in our office for a minimum of 30 hours per week.

The summer 2015 program lasts from May 26 – August 7, and the final deadline to apply is January 18, 2015.  This is an unpaid position.  If a student or graduate is interested in applying, please encourage the applicant to email a resume and a statement of interest to OPCAssociate@who.eop.gov.

If applicants are interested in opportunities involving time commitments less than 30 hours per week, please contactOPCStudentVolunteers@who.eop.gov for more information.
