Government and Public Affairs Internship with American Council on Education

ACE is a higher education, non-profit organization with almost 1,700 member institutions and educational organizations.
ACE’s mission is to provide leadership and a unified voice on key higher education issues through advocacy, research, and program initiatives. ACE programs include several leadership programs for college and university administrators and faculty. (For more information on ACE: www.acenet.edu.)
This internship provides a student with the opportunity to develop and apply research and writing skills to higher education policy. The intern is exposed to a wide array of public policy matters concerning higher education.
Responsibilities include:
  • Conducting research for position papers on policy issues facing the higher education community.
  • Researching and providing summaries and memos regarding proposed legislation or regulations affecting the higher education sector.
  • Drafting articles on higher education matters for publication.
  • Preparing memoranda on higher education policy issues.
  • Participating in meetings with internal and external stakeholders.

The intern will work under the supervision of a Director of Government Relations
